William Joiner

Owner/Curator

William is a Social Worker who spent much of his life studying diverse cultures, philosophies and meditation styles before founding Antique River Logs. He has served as a missionary in Scotland and managed a scuba diving safari boat in the Red Sea near Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. As he observed the cultural appreciation for antiquities in the older parts of the world, he began to feel a sense of pride and heritage in his own history.

William's family has been navigating the Kentucky waterways for five generations. His father, Captain Bill Joiner, served 53 years as a towboat captain. His grandfather, Cecil Joiner, piloted a snag boat and a mail carrier. His great-grandfather, Commodore Joiner, piloted a ferry; and his great-great-grandfather, William Perry Joiner, was the captain of a steamboat.

Antique River Logs was born out of William's river heritage, his diving skills, woodworking craftsmanship, and appreciation for the conservation of our natural resources, and a recognition of the opportunity to offer timber and wood products that were once readily available, and are now a limited resource.
